Samsung Increasing 3G Handset Exports

Starting in the second half of 2005, Samsung will be exporting 3G mobile phones on a large scale. The company forecasts that it will have a worldwide 3G mobile shipment volume of six to seven million units in 2005, with the first half of the year accounting for one million units. In Europe Samsung has already introduced models such as the Z130, Z300 and the Z500, with models such as the Z550 and the Z700 slated to hit stores in the second half of 2005.

 

Samsung forecasts that the worldwide shipment volume of mobile phones in 2005 will amount to 720 million units, of which Samsung will account for 100 million units, equaling a 13.9% market share.
